Organization and Funding

Board of Directors and Board of Advisors

OGLM has two Boards, the Board of Advisors with five members (sits twice a year), and the Board of Directors, the Governing arm of OGLM.

The Board of Directors is composed of five members with the Executive Director as the sixth and non-voting member. It is the policy-making organ responsible for policy design for the organization. The members of the board participate in the review and planning meetings that are held twice a year (half year and annual review and planning meetings) where they work together with management staff to analyze the achievements and impact of OGLM's Programmes. The Board of Directors also sits quarterly to review and design programmes and policies of the organization. The management/implementation unit, through provision of timely information, assists the Board of Directors.

The OGLM constitution is currently being revised to reflect the changes that have taken place in the organization since its formation and also to reflect the current position and status of OGLM.

Management/Implementation Unit

Management is the planning, implementing and monitoring unit of the organization and is composed of the Executive Director, Programs' Director and Programme staff, target group and the volunteers. It is a direct decision of the Organization to keep the youths in the Program management and implementation. OGLM maintains a small number of qualified and committed members of staff. The Executive Director, who is the chief Executive Officer of the organization and is responsible for the activities, heads the management and implementation unit. The organization occasionally engages volunteers, consultants and other resource persons during the implementation of its activities. Other activities are organized jointly with other civil society organizations such as the AIDS Information Centre & Community Development Resource Network (CDRN) Kampala, Uganda Aids Commission, AMREF, Schools and FHI

Support and Funding

Cordaid, Stephen Lewis Foundation, DFID Small Grants - Uganda and WORLD BANK - Small Grants have supported OGLM financially.

Various individuals, foundations, the government of Uganda and numerous local and international organizations have supported us with donations in kind.

We are partners with Aids Information Center - Uganda, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, The Aids Support Organization, Uganda National Aids Services Organizations (UNASO), Jinja - Network, Uganda NGO Forum, PSI - USAID, UNAIDS, International Reproductive Health & Rights Alliance - Netherlands, Plan - International, WIDE.

In the Financial Year 2004/200505, OGLM ran a Budget of $68,500 USD. In 2005/2006, we intend to run a budget of $78,500 USD.
